Introduction

Anyone who attended this year's AGM in York will know that the election of Trustees was not without controversy. Many delegates were unhappy that no choice of candidates was given. My own view was that, given we had already handed over responsibility for selecting a Chair to a panel of Trustees, it was perfectly logical that a couple of members of the Board should have gone through the same process.

Whatever the arguments, however, I was elected and here I am.

My constituency as a Trustee would appear to be the entire Citizens Advice service, which, through
its AGM (and with the above mentioned reluctance) placed me on the Board. The question then arises, how can I enable such a huge constituency to know what I am doing in its name, so that it can boot me off the Board on some future election-type occasion?

Hence a leap into the hitherto shunned world of the Blog. My default position on blogging (and tweeting) is that I am not interested in anyone who is that convinced that I should be interested in them. Which means that setting up this site is a bit embarrassing.

So let's be clear. You'll find out absolutely nothing here about my private life. You'll hear nothing about my views on non-CAB matters. You'll get no information about my hilarious escapades on the train to London. What you will get is questions about future developments when I want to know people's views, and factual reports about what I did at Trustee Board meetings, with explanations where appropriate. Don't look too often, because I certainly won't be posting more than once or twice a month.

If this doesn't work, I'll abandon it and get back to real life. If it does, then you may be slightly better informed about what one Trustee is doing. Exciting, isn't it?
